ROLLS · FOOD PACKAGING
FROM FILM TO PACKAGING
Flexible and rigid films for forming and sealing food packs on thermoforming lines. The structure is selected according to the product, pack depth, required barrier and machine operating conditions.

THE MATERIAL FOR YOUR PROJECT

Advanced 11-layer coextrusion
Flexible PA/PE films for thermoformable bottoms and lids, manufactured using advanced 11-layer coextrusion. The multilayer construction combines forming, strength and sealing functions according to the selected item. For vacuum or modified atmosphere packaging, the bottom and lid are selected together, considering the food, pack geometry and machine. Thickness and operating conditions are validated through testing with the actual product.
Discuss PA/PEReinforced coextruded PA/PE film. The available data sheet covers the 240 μm grade; its values and test conditions apply exclusively to this item. The selection must be checked with the formed pack and the actual product.
Discuss reinforced PA/PEPA/EVOH/PE structures for applications requiring a higher oxygen barrier. The barrier level is defined by the selected grade's data sheet and test conditions. The bottom film, lid and seal must be evaluated together.
Discuss PA/EVOH/PEAPET/PE and APET/PE/EVOH/PE structures for forming rigid or semi-rigid packs. They allow packs with a defined cavity to be developed, with the barrier and closure system selected for the application.
Rigid PET/PE bottoms: data sheets by composition, with peelable or non-peelable seals for modified atmosphere packaging.
Discuss PET-based filmTWO FILMS, ONE SYSTEM
The bottom film is heated to form the pack cavity. The lid completes the closure and must be compatible with the bottom's sealing layer.
The bottom and lid may have different structures and thicknesses. Forming, barrier and sealing requirements are reviewed together.
Easy opening, anti-fog properties, printing and reclosure depend on the selected item and its compatibility with the application.
Non-thermoformable lidding film with a peelable seal on PET for modified atmosphere packaging. Declared structure: high-barrier biaxially oriented PET and peelable PET.
Non-thermoformable, high-barrier PET/PE-EVOH-PE/PET lidding film with a peelable seal on PET for modified atmosphere packaging.
Each lid's compatibility with the bottom and the sealing conditions are validated on the packaging line.
THE PRODUCT AND ITS PRESERVATION
Shelf life is validated with the food, cold chain and final pack. The flat film's barrier properties alone do not guarantee those of the formed pack.
LIDDING FILM · MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE
Shrink lid for fresh meat and other chilled foods packed in a modified atmosphere.
The reference data sheet declares barrier, anti-fog, transparency and gloss properties. We start with the food, tray and packaging line to guide the selection.
Typical values come from the technical source's internal evaluations and are provided as a reference. Compatibility with the substrate and sealing parameters are confirmed for each application.
PET LIDS · 40 AND 45 µm
View the two PET lid options and their data sheets in the bottom and lid section.
SKIN FILM · SELECTION BY APPLICATION
Film for skin packaging projects involving meat, sausages, fish, seafood and prepared foods.
The film follows the product's contours on a compatible substrate. The material, seal and process are defined according to the food and packaging line.
The general data sheet describes a film with EVOH and a PE or PE copolymer sealing layer. Compatibility is confirmed with each pack's substrate.
Indicative options to guide selection. The structure and thickness are confirmed for the specific item and conditions of use.
Indicative family data sheet: it does not identify a specific grade or substantiate MOLTHIS performance, testing or certifications. Specifications and food-contact documentation are reviewed for each application.
RECLOSABLE PACKAGING
Explore opening and reclosure options for your product. Compare formats, define the user experience and prepare an evaluation with the details of your packaging line.
SMILE2LITE (S2L), developed by Smilesys, replaces a rigid lid with a flexible reclosable solution. This evolution of SMILE aims to reduce packaging material and weight. It supports recyclable paper bases and options including laser macro-perforation, dispensers and the Drop & Taste system.
Reduced plastic use when replacing a rigid lid.
A lighter pack.
Opening options adapted to the project.
Compatibility with recyclable paper bases.

Open from the indicated area.

Take the portion you need.

Reposition and press the closure.
Usage sequence: open, take a portion and close again. The configuration and instructions are defined for each pack.
RECLOSABLE FILM · 50–150 µm
The offered range includes reclosable films from 50 to 150 µm, with options for sealing to PE or PET. Film structure, thickness and sealing conditions are selected for the pack and its application.
A label-based closure for vertical and horizontal packs. Smilesys states more than 20 reclosures, barrier and modified-atmosphere options, and roll application without machine changes.
A closure using a strip of the same material as the pack. PET/PET, OPP/OPP and PE/PE configurations, without an additional label or silicone-coated paper.
The Smilesys range covers categories including dairy, pasta, dried fruit and nuts, bakery, confectionery, frozen food, ready meals and fresh produce. The system should be selected for each application.
No. Each proposal should specify its structure, format and conditions of use. A single grade’s performance cannot automatically be applied to the entire range.
Reclosure should not be described as equivalent to the initial seal. Storage after opening must follow the product’s instructions and the pack’s validation.
The calculation requires a comparison of the complete packaging weight for the same product, including the lid being removed. Request an evaluation for your format.
The complete structure and the available collection route in the destination market must be checked. A recyclable base alone does not establish that the entire pack is recyclable.
Specify the food or product, pack dimensions, existing material, machine model and storage conditions. If you want to replace a rigid lid, include the weight of the complete pack and a sample of the current format.
This information provides a starting point for opening, reclosure, sealing and line trials before the commercial specification is finalized.
SMILE, SMILE2LITE and STRIP are Smilesys solution names. Manufacturer reference information; the selected configuration is subject to technical evaluation.
Smilesys ↗The final selection requires validation of the film and seal under actual packaging conditions. Food-contact requirements are reviewed against the relevant declaration of compliance.
PLASTICS · SHRINK FILM
Crosslinked polyolefin shrink film: anti-fog and standard options.
Thickness and format are selected according to the product and packaging line.
Select your interests. You can add catalog items and share only the information you already have.
Thicknesses, finishes and formats depend on the selected item. Final approval requires forming, sealing and pack integrity tests under actual production conditions.

POLYMER SOURCING
Molthis acts as a commercial broker and supplier of virgin polymers, recycled materials and compounds. We manage each request around the application, technical specification, quantity and destination, from packaging resins to engineering thermoplastics. rPET can be evaluated in pellet or flake form.

Listed families indicate the scope of enquiries; they do not confirm stock or availability of every grade. Quotations depend on grade, intended use, volume and destination. Recycled content, technical suitability and food-contact requirements are verified separately.
rPET
Physical form is part of the specification. rPET flakes and rPET pellets are distinct sourcing requests. Particle size, colour, contamination limits, moisture and intended use must be agreed for flakes; pellet data must not be applied to flakes.
Grade and properties to be confirmed for the intended application.
Particle size, color, moisture and contamination to be specified for each request.
Low-, linear low-, medium- and high-density grades, plus specialised molecular-weight grades.
Homopolymer, random copolymer and impact/heterophasic copolymer grades.
Polystyrenes and styrenic copolymers selected for the required process and performance.
Recycled PET in pellets or flakes, plus engineering polyester enquiries.
Technical polymers and compounds assessed against application requirements.
Ethylene copolymers for flexible formulations and barrier applications, depending on grade.
Rigid and flexible formulations, specified for the intended process.
TPE families, including thermoplastic polyurethane, selected by hardness and performance.
Virgin and recycled grades. Not every family is available in every variant. Grade, volume and destination determine the assessment of each supply request.
PCR: post-consumer recycled. PIR: post-industrial recycled. These terms describe the origin of recycled material, not a polymer family.
Recycled does not automatically mean recyclable or suitable for food contact. Documentation and suitability are reviewed for each grade and application.
Availability and terms are subject to technical and commercial confirmation. This range does not constitute a stock guarantee or a binding offer.
Specify the family or grade, application and process, form, color, quantity, frequency and destination country or port. For recycled materials, include the required PCR/PIR origin or recycled content and the documentation needed.
